  2.    because you too are a SYSOP.  So please, take the time to read it!

  4.    We have big problems here at LBX, and we need YOUR HELP!  Last month we
  5.    put together a group modem purchase here and placed the order (with a lot
  6.    of cash up front) with a guy who does business through his own BBS.  As I
  7.    am sure you have guessed by now, we have been unable to get anything out
  8.    of the guy, either modems or money.  As there is a lot of money involved
  9.    (over $4400 for the order alone, plus legal and other expenses since the
  10.    order) AND we are personally issuing refunds to all who placed orders, I
  11.    have been forced to place my system up for sale to cover part of the
  12.    expense.

  14.    Help us raise the additional cash we need to put the guy out of business
  15.    and get this board back on its feet by spreading the word!  One jerk
  16.    ripping people off with a BBS could go a long way towards encouraging the
  17.    kinds of legislation that will hurt all of our legitimate boards, and we
  18.    will not be able to finance a lawsuit halfway across the continent
  19.    without help.  I have not mentioned any names at the stern command of my
  20.    attorney, but we have been in contact with a number of others who have
  21.    also been defrauded by this individual and this guy HAS to be stopped.

  23.    So please, send donations, post messages, do whatever you can - let's
  24.    show this guy that legitimate BBS's will not tolerate such abuses.  If
